Not because I like to waste time scrolling through photos. Not because its the new hip social network for marketers. Not because it helps me find cool products.

I am a Pinterest addict because it is an inspiration. It makes me want to make things. It makes me want to cook healthy food, and bad food. It makes me want to jet to Paris and Glasgow and Tokyo. It makes me want to dress up and go out. It makes me want to buy and fix up an old Airstream. It makes me want to grow a herb garden, in a shoe organizer. It makes me want to decorate the house for each season, or maybe even each holiday.

Pinterest is like laying on the grass with your best friends, watching the clouds go by and talking about your hopes and dreams.

Yes, marketers, Pinterest is about images. And connections. And tags. But it is so much more.

It is a place where one person in Belgium can inspire someone in New York to cook something different for dinner. A place where each person pins and repins images to build a virtual bulletin board for the places they want to go, the furniture they want to buy, the clothes they want to wear, the quotes they find inspiring, or any other random things they want to pin. A place where likes on your dreams can inspire someone to go and do or be something new.
